Intuit had a PC stolen with 47,000 client credit card numbers on the hard drive. At least the files were password-protected. <sigh>

Probably the same aliens that stole those two discs with the nuke secrets on it from the Los Almos Labs.
Say, maybe we could broker a trade and make some lunch money on it...?
Ya think ? :p

Same question keeps coming up, just like when Ford lost the credit applications........"haven't you guys heard of securing that stuff on network drives?"

That's a bit too simple for some people. Security in most places, physical or otherwise is a joke.
I've just come back from an Inland Revenue seminar on starting in business - I saw at least two ways to compromise their security.
A recent trip to a bank regarding accounts gave me at least two pathways to explore if I were inclined to compromise them.
Guess which aspect of IT I'm going to be concentrating on in my training:D
Between microsoft and people's ignorance, there is enough work to keep any IT security worker employed for life!
