Router forwarding

I would like to see my computer from a friend's and visa versa.

He has a Belkin 54g router and I have a Linksys.

I know the port and the ip address but can't seem to make it work.

I am using "Remote Administrator".

On Belkin's website they have the "Firewall virtual server" page that has a 2 boxes for "Inbound port", a "Type" lilk TCP, "Private IP address and "Private port".

What settings do I need to enter?

The RadMin program works inside the router from one of my computer to another but not outside the router.

What about Security? Is this making us vulnerable?

Im assuming you meen you are trying to use remote desktop from your computer to his over the internet? the port is TCP 3389.
The private IP is the computers private ip address you want to connect to and the port for that will also be 3389.

Opening any ports makes you vulnerable. However, opening a remote desktop port is really insane as anyone with a port scanner will see 3389 open and know they can connect with remote desktop then just guess passwords and/or brute force their way in. you should use a VPN for this kind of stuff, or at the very least put in an acl only allowing access to 3389 from your public only if that option is available in the belkin.
