Hi there.

I have a strange issue here.
I have a folder in one of my network drives. The size of the folder is about 4GB.
Suddenly, this morning, the folder seem to be missing from the drive. I searched the whole drive (and other drives) but just fail to locate it. I figured it could have been accidentally deleted by someone, but then the drive's free space did not show any 4GB increase (which should happen if any 4GB folder was deleted, right?)

So, is there anything sinister happening? All AV scans show negative. Is there anyway I can retrieve some form of log (in Windows NT server 4.0) that can show me what happened to the folder, or who did what to it?

Puzzled

What file system or version of FAT is running and does the folder also contain large files? Presumably it's not FAT16 under which the maximum partition size is 4GB even with LBA enabled or 7.8 GB under NTFS (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;224526).

Whether it has been somehow hidden/moved/renamed or not you could try scanning with GetDataBack for FAT or NTFS (http://runtime.org/gdb.htm) and at least see if it can locate it
