As if the "Pringles can" was not enough of a wireless risk, there is now this (http://www.engadget.com/entry/4508373394872473) device out that has a range of least 400 yards.

Wait till Mark sees this.

I know, I know, I read about it on dsl reports.
I'm just hoping I live high enough and with facing the water maybe I'll be okay.... not:D :D :D
I was gonna at some point post the same thing.
Mark
Guess I'll have to put some security on my little network:eek:

They were saying it had 10 miles range but that cannot be true simply due to the dB losses with distance, and the scope is unecessary due to the wide target of 801.11.

Looks scary enough though.

:D  :D

My only saving grace is that I live in a complex and in the far end of the complex waaay up and facing the water, only 3 units a floor. I have never even been able to detect another network.
Bu t as I said I'll figure something out.

You could line the walls with aluminum foil and ground the foil.

:p;)

As I have already mentioned it's time to stop all this and go smell some flowers then move to a cave [One with a view and a cable connection of course:D ]

Or you can start that "great beer cans" of the world collection and ground it as a screen. The spouse might even buy that one.

Actually my brother is doing that with beer bottles, and his wife is ready to kill him:D
