Hello,

I'm about to buy a new PC and would like to know if I should invest the extra money in a dual layer DVD drive.

I know that dual layer recording allows for extra storage on a single disc, but it seems like I'm always seeing ads for single layer recording software that lets you put a movie all on one disc.

I assume the quality must be better if you have a dual layer one.

How much difference is there in price between dual layer and single layer DVD-R's?

I'd love to have some input from anyone who knows more about it than I do. (Most of you).

Thanks,
Chris

It is a new concept, burns to different penetration layers when burning. Sony is having some issues with their version where other devices don't want to read the disks from the dual plane burner. HP is also doing it, says 80% compatable with other devices.
