To all of our friends on the east coast. I hope you are safe and well. As I understand it, the weather is getting worse and not really showing any sign of letting up. :(
By no means am I bragging or trying to rub salt but it has been in the 80’s and 90’s here and I wish you could all be here with me.
IXL, MJC, setoguro, sea69, yoda, Pete (are you out that way???). If I’m missing anyone please feel included in this.
If anyone wants out of that mess, I have a queen size hide-a-bed and plenty of room in the yard for tents :D so come on out.

Again, wishing you and your families well. Hope to hear from you soon

Well Frank:

Thanks for the offer. I'm vacationing in the mountains of Pennsylvania and it's been sunny and in the 70's during the day and in the 50's at night. Getting two foutons delivered tomorrow so let me know if you want to hand out here.....

And by the way, just got cable internet access up here and I'm typing this by the lake with my wireless connection.

Huh?

It's been a beautiful summer day. Looks like another one tomorrow. Some scattered showers due tomorrow night and Wed. but not much to speak of.

Where are you? West coast? Blackpool?

Hmmmm. Maybe I’m mistaken. Seems there has been a lot of fowl weather out that way lately and I heard on the news radio today that the hurricane was tearing up most of the east coast.
That’s what I get for not takin a better look at the news before I post (never done that before  ) Anyway, weather or not, hope all of you out that way are doing well.
Anybody heard from MJC yet???

Hippy Warlock, I am in California and was referring to the east coast of U.S. How are things out your way?

classic way  I love my wireless gear.

The hurricaine hit mainly south of Virginia and then went out to sea. There has been a lot of heavy rains in some parts (low-lying areas) of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and northern Maryland, north of me in Towson, that is. But for a long while it was really uncomfortably humid and hot. Lately the temps have moderated--50s and 60s at night, and 70s and 80s in the day.

Sants Rosa, California huh? Hmmm, I havenm't seen the Pacific since 1977, went back to Hawaii to visit friends. Miss it dearly. I just might show up with a tent for a patch of that back yard, but I'll alert you well in advance.

Love to see Monterey Bay Aquarium, San Fran Aquarium, and the N. Cal surf when it is breaking big, Big Sur....

Thanks, Frank......

This is what I think about when "fowl weather" is mentioned:

It will hit 109F today where I live. I call that "foul weather".

I live in S. fla and this time of the year it's supposed to rain everyday
Actually until a few weeks ago people here were afraid of a possible drought.
Some storms out in the Carrib but so far nothing major and no real problems
by the way I know that area of Calif very well and must say how beautiful it is.

Well, right now it is 104F degrees with 16% humidity and 15 MPH breeze.
I don't think the lawn will get mowed today...
I think I will tell the wife it is all Bassman's fault for bragging how great the weather was.

:p

PrntRhd :D Sorry, tell the wife I would be happy to come over and mow the lawn as the heat does not bother my much. 5 years of working outdoors in Las Vegas has made me impervious to anything under 110 degrees

Mark, ummmm, hope I didn't start something here.

Reid, I thought you were in L.A. Oh yea, should have been "foul weather".

I know the weather is always a bit less scary then the news makes it out to be but I still want to extend my best wishes to those affected ;)

Thanks,
Hurricane went west of Miami
North and west of here a mess.
Wait till you see what these 2 storms do when they go further up the coast.
I feel bad for those people already.
We just had some wind and a few thunderstorms. Thank goodness
Mark

I have a high school classmate living near Tampa area, not good at all there due to elevations.

Tampa got saved the storm missed them by 70 miles.
Further down by Ft Myers, total devastation. Almost a cat 5 hurricane. Very Very Bad.
Orlando which is far inland, almost on the east coast is feeling 100 mile an hour wind.
We are going to help collect relief supplies tomorrow.

Mark

Ft Myers is basically a retirement community and they thought they would only get brushed by storm. Had only 1 or 3 hours to decide whether to leave or not. Most had to stay in shelters or their homes as there was no where to go at that point.
Sorry for such a negative post in a basically funny thread.
I am just sad :( :(
