Can anyone tell me what i can look under to find out how to dispose of monitors and computer equipment in my area? Typically we put in the dumpster, but we are trying to conform to standards.

Your State EPA is one resource, also your local waste handling contractors know the laws regards recycling and hazardous waste.
Electronics, particularly CRTs, are likely have lead and other toxics in them, they should be stripped of toxics before disposal in your local landfill.
Some electronic vendors are now accepting your old stuff when you buy their new stuff and they are then the ones who get the recycling path started.
How many monitors and computers are we talking about here?

Thanks! At times, there can be 2 or 3. We also have a lot of old terminals. When you consider them, it could be as many as 20.

Are they working terminals/monitors? If they are then you can donate them and let some poor school/student take advantage of your old stuff.
