Does anyone have, know of, a deep cleaning tool for AVAST and AVG?

AVAST keeps showing up in my Add/Remove programs list although I have removed it and done a file search and deleted all I found. AVG works for a day or so now, and then it tells me it cannot find the driver. That's happened twice so far, so I unloaded it and got the trial version of Nod 32.

Edit:

Neither AVAST nor AVG responded to emails.

No,
but Paul's idea for imaging the drive or backing up the Registry is looking better all the time. There will be someone who will comment, I am not making light of your issue Donn.

Try to reinstall then uninstall again. That works many times. I would try the removal in safe mode.

Well thanks guys, I have them both gone...for now anyway. That AVAST listing in Add Remove programs just seems to saunter in and out at will, but I haven't seen it since saturday. I ran Reg Seeker again, so hopefully that cleaned out the remnants.

Nod32 is installed, nice how it takes care of itself. Runs and "cleans" 52,498 files in 11 min 33 secs. I thnk I may end up paying for it after the trrial period. Depends on how much work I have going since I am eventully going to have to buy an Xp disk, at least one for the Dell to make it legit, and eventually one for the Compaq Me since Wind-ows is not going to support Me after 2006.
