I tried to format a hard disk that had Lindows and Linux on it. When I run fdisk it brings up all information on the hard drive but will not allow me to delete any of the partitions. It says it is running in STANDARD Mode and cannot delete under this mode. I've never seen STANDARD Mode on Fdisk show up. How do I delete these partitions so I can partition and format under a DOS type of system?

The FDisk in DOS can have problems with non-dos partitions. You could try any partitioning utilities that came with Lindows/Linux or download Free FDisk (http://www.23cc.com/free-fdisk/) which should delete them for you.
One other utility that might do the job is WipeOut (http://www.lurkhere.com/~nicefiles/index.html) or even get the HDD maker's utility to zero the drive.

Many thanks to Paul. The Fdisk he told me to use worked!
