Firstly let me apologise for probably asking a stupid question.

I wanted to be clear in my mind as to how much power (wattage) memory uses. Let me give an example:

1. If I have 512Mb (PC2700) memory on my board as a single module what is the power requirement?.
2. If I have 512Mb (PC2700) memory on my board as 2x256mb modules is the power requirement the same?.

Many thanks for any info you can provide.

No. You would consume or need more power for 2 sticks of RAM than just one. But the larger the RAM module is, the more it needs also.

Some dated info here (http://computer.howstuffworks.com/power-supply3.htm) That info is probably relevant to pc133 days. I assume pc2700 would be a bit more demanding. Assume double.

Many thanks for your reply Fruss Tray Ted. I have not been on that site but have looked at a several others and they all seem to say something different as regards power consumption. This is all kinda academic if you are running 128Mb ram but becomes more important with 512Mb or 1Gb.
