Messenger plus is not considered malware, but it reportedly bundles lop.com. I would suggest that you remove it and use an alternative like Trillian.

Go to Add/remove programs and uninstall [b]Messenger Plus!. Before uninstalling, you have to close all your opened Internet Explorer windows. If you like it, you can reinstall later, but please note to uncheck 'sponsor', when installing.

Scan with HijackThis again and fix the following entries, if found:

1: Boot into safe mode by tapping the f8 key as your computer boots. You should do this before you see the Windows splash screen.

2: Also, make sure you can see hidden files; Open My Computer and choose Tools, then click on Folder Options, click on the View tab and under Advanced Setting, choose Show Hidden Files and Folders, then click on OK and close My Computer.

The following DIRECTORY CONTENTS (But not the directory) need to be deleted while in safe mode.
* C:\Windows\Temp\
* C:\Documents and Settings\Your Profile\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\
* C:\Documents and Settings\Your Profile\Local Settings\Temp\
* C:\Documents and Settings\Any other users Profile\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\
* C:\Documents and Settings\Any other users Profile\Local Settings\Temp\
* Empty your "Recycle Bin".

Then disable your system restore

1 Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
2 Click the System Restore tab.
3 Check the "Turn off System Restore" or "Turn off System Restore on all drives" check box.
4 Click Apply
5 this will delete all existing restore points. Click Yes to do this.
6 Click OK.

Reboot into normal mode enable System Restore.

Download [b]Adaware SE 1.03 (http://lavasoft.element5.com/support/download/#free) and install it.
Configure the Adaware for performing a full scan following instrutions below:

Double click on the Adaware icon on the desktop to open the program.
Click 'Check for updates now'
If you use a proxy to connect, Click 'Configure' otherwise Click 'Connect' and download the updated definitions file if available.
Click 'Start' to choose a scan mode.
Select 'Perform Full System scan'
Click 'Next' to start the scan
After the scan is complete, it will list malware files and registry keys, Click 'Next'
Under the critical objects tab, right click in the list, choose Select All, then 'Next'
Choose OK when it asks for verification of checke items
Close Adaware and reboot your system.

To startwith, please move HijackThis to its own folder, C:\HJT or C:\Program Files\HJT for example. It is not recommended to sit in a temporary folder as the backups that are made could be lost.

I guess you want to keep Messenger plus. Scan again with HijackThis and fix the following entry

I see that you have reverted back to the older version of HijackThis.....The latest log looks clean of malware.

To reduce the chance of reinfection in the future, I strongly recommend installing two fine freeware SpywareGuard (http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareguard.html) and SpywareBlaster (http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html) by JavaCool. SpywareBlaster will prevent installation of Active-X based spyware/adware/hijackers whereas SpywareGuard offers realtime heuristic protection from most spyware installation attempts.
