boot then wont boot

Ive just made my first pc, but Im having problems booting.
It only boots up alternatly, I press the power button and it starts up and windows loads, when I shut down and i press the power button to turn on again all the lights come on but i get nothing on the monitor so i press reset twice and it comes on. This happens all the time regular as clockwork.

AMD 64 3200+
2x512mb 3200 400 ram
asrock k8s8x motherboard
sata harddrive
geforce 6800gt
nec dvd writer
liteon dvd rom
floppy

Have you made sure that everything is fitting properly in its slot, especially your video card and RAM?

everythings in properly, could the motherboard be faulty?

What brand of power supply are you using? If you're running a low cost 450 watter, it's quite likely that the components are not getting the juice they need.

If you are running a reputable brand of PSU, then my guess would be the motherboard.
