Network Cable Unplugged

Hi everyone,

I have configured my pc and my brothers pc so that they are suitable for small home office networking.

I have connected both computers using a cross-over cable through two LAN ports.

However, my brother keeps getting an error on his machine saying network cable unplugged. I do not however get it on my machine.

Our aim is so that my brother can share my internet connection i have.

I am running Win98se and he has WindowsXP.

Any help please?

You did not post whether XP Home or Pro, it makes a big difference sometimes.
