Hi,

I am having power issues and wanted to see if anyone has any ideas.

Background:
I bought this PC in Germany last year. Brought it back to the US. Switched power cords and tried to start it up. This is what happened:

The CPU Fan started. The CD ROM light came on. Nothing showed up on the monitor. I unplugged the power to the CD Rom and just left it in the hard drive. Turned it on again. No change. CPU Fan on and LEDs on the motherboard were lit indicating it was on. So I took the data cable out of the hard drive. Turned it on again and the hard drive started to spin as if booting up.

The documentation with this computer is bad. It was a cheapy. From what I have, the power supply does power switching from 220 adn 115 V power. Now since we are at 120V was wondering if that might be the problem. Any thoughts on this or should I get a new power supply?

Thanks.

There are 3 ways that voltage is commonly measured, so basically you can have values ranging from 110V to 120V, but it is all the same.

Does the current power supply actually have a switch to switch between the 115 and the 220?

And is it set for 115V?
