I have an IBM Thinkpad that I am trying to open the case and find out how many slots, if any are there for RAM. How do I open the friggin thing?
Or, can I tell some other way? It has 64 megs right now. Anyone know if there are more ram slots?

Thanks.

The think pad should have 2 memory slots.
Depending on the unit you have

It can be accessed from the Bottom by removing the memory slot cover.
Or By removing the Keyboard.
Grab the tech doc’s from the IBM web site.
They should include detailed info for your unit.

Like this PDF file for the Think pad 390E (2626)
ftp://ftp.pc.ibm.com/pub/pccbbs/mobiles/37l5153.pdf
Or the 390I (2626)

Rick,

You are a star. Excellent link. That gave me a good idea, and I opened the correct one. The RAM chips are just tiny eh? They are like half the size of regular ones. I just hadn't seen inside a laptop before.

Can I order that ram anywhere?

Thanks again.

I prefer to get my memory from http://www.crucial.com
I checked and they do have your memory in stock ..
Or you can order from almost anyone who carries Memory for the IBM
