This link is to a discussion at SpywareWarrior with a person who claims to be distributing an anti-spyware product. He is using bogus code that he purchased and when confronted about this he said he would have some "undetectable" spyware written and distributed since he is only in it for the money... He eventually backtracked on this (and almost every other) statement... This is an interesting view into the mind of the type of people that are bogging down the internet with their garbage... Check it out if you have a while, it is a long thread.....

I looked to see if someone else posted this already and couldn't find it, excuse me if this a repeat.... :)

I saw this posted a couple of days ago as a warning at BBR, he is now being pressured to remove the "product" altogether at the behest of all sorts of reputable malware-removal software writers whom he angered. Lots of false positives.

He said toward the end of this long topic that he has withdrawn the product, but that he plans to release it again soon under a different name and company.... He says he is going to fix the false positive problem, but that seems about as likely as this slimeball developing a conscience and sense of ethics in the next couple of weeks... There are clues that he already has another rogue program under a different name and this was just an effort to get around the bad reputaion from the analysis and publicity that was done on that one already... I suspect he will keep putting out garbage and I wouldn't be surprised to learn that he is already responsible for some on the malware out there too... He has ticked off a number of people who don't always play by the rules, so he may be in for more trouble than he planned on....

Anyone like him who believes Gator is a great role model is never going to be a friend of the spyware software removal companies or forums. A 22- year old jerk.
FYI the program was called "Privacy Tools 2004", beware the program, it is rogue software.
