Explorer starts with >dy

Many times, when I click on Explorer it fails the first time and displays >dy. I have to close and reopen and it works fine. Please help.....

Is this explorer Internet Explorer and if so which version and which OS?

Where is the >dy displayed?

If this is IE then if you "view source", what is written there?

Could you have been hijacked?

INternet Explorer...explorer opens up and the backgrund is white and the >dy shows up on the top left hand corner.
