I just want to express concern that Mark Miller and all the residents in the Southeast USA get to safety from the approaching hurricane Frances headed that way. Board up and get out of harms way Mark.

Yes...strange that we had the same thoughts.
I just PM'd him last night and haven't heard back yet, so maybe he's already gone further inland?
No question this is a really bad storm that will be severely effecting not only the coastal areas, but many other areas as well.
I've experienced a couple of them first hand in the Outer banks of North Carolina, and they can be quite an experience to say the very least.
My thoughts and prayers are with people down there that are still trying to recover from the last storm. Unbelievable.

I've been watching the news and thinking about Mark. Two and a half MILLION people have been ordered to evacuate!
Good grief. Where do that many people go?

Oh my, what will they find when they come back. Hopefully the upper air currents will work it over and start to break it up.
good luck Mark et al....:)

Just heard from Mark...as I expected, he and his family have moved inland a bit to a nice Hotel.
Didn't take him long to get on-line via a Wi-fi connection in the place :p
Anyway, they're safe but quite concerned about the Condo which I believe is right on the coast.
Looks like the storm is weakening just a bit, but moving so slowly that rainfall amounts could be staggering....not to mention a Category 3 is nothing to scoff at.
Any way you look at it, this Storm could cause some real problems. We'll just hope for the best.
Mark sends his regards. ;)

Downgraded to a Category 2 now but it is huge, about the size of the state of Texas, 105 MPH. It slowed to 8 MPH which would drop more rain where it hits, possibly 20 inches. Glad to hear Mark is being careful.
:D
