I've got a couple of gmail invitations to give away...
The first two members who email me can have them.
Offer expires in one hour, if they last that long - I'll be away from my computer for most of the weekend after then. I'll post back here when they're gone.

I had two forum members email me over the weekend (and one private message), and all of them should have invitations. I've still got three more (I got some more invitations to give away sometime this weekend). So, email me if you want one!

I keep running into people that want to give these invitations away... it seems that there is more supply than demand... :p

Google has its own email service now called Gmail. They give you 1GB of space free. Gmail is reportedly much better than Hotmail, Yahoo, etc. You can't just "sign up" for an account. You have to get an "invitation". Google thought this exclusive invitation feature would add some "class" and that the invitations would be snapped up so fast that they would be in short supply.
However, it hasn't worked out that way. As Budfred pointed out, the supply seems to exceed the demand. Google has been beta testing Gmail since April, I think.

Unless Gmail can be accessed with a regular email client, I know I'm not especially interested.
I wonder for how long it will be "better" than yahoo or hotmail.

I've been using a gmail account for some time now, and the greatest advantage is has over hotmail etc is (for me at least) speed.
The mail interface has the same minimalistic-design-philosophy as the search engine, there isn't a load of b*llcra*p to deal with, it just works as it should and does so fast. It is only spectacular in that way too: it simply does what it is suposed to do, without any bloating.
Also: my hotmail addys I was using for webmail were getting swamped with spam to the point of unusability, so I needed a new webmailaddy anyway :)

A few months ago, invitations were in very high demand. Now it seems that most people who really wanted one have got one. I only got mine about two weeks ago - so far, I like it pretty well.
Less ads and bs than Hotmail, I'll try it. If there's an invite to be had send it mhy way via pm. :)

I am really liking gmail. I've had it for several weeks now and I really like the interface and how replies are shown as conversations, and to not delete, but archive. I'm, loving it.
If anyone wants an invite I have 5 left and I'll give away 2 or 3 of them to people here.
