Floppy disk failure(40)

I got this message, checked connections, all unchanged though i note the indicator light on the floppy drive now remains on all the time. I replaced the drive but no difference. Anyone any ideas?

If the light remains on constantly this normally indicates that the cable connector is backwards. Note the side of the data cable with the red edge...this should be on the #1 pin of the drive and MB. Also, be sure to terminate the cable...don't connect to the center connector if using one floppy drive.

One other thought: Are you overclocking? This apparently can also result in disk read failure.
