Please- help!

After I installed sp2 update for my xp- I had a really weird beeping sound from my speakers. I run win xp home edition on Intell Pent 4, never had a problem before. Norton Antivirus couldn't find a thing, then I had a couple for spyware removal software- nothing, even with hitchjack! Then I checked my hdd for errors, cleaned it and then even updated ALL possible drivers for my hardware. Uninstalled sp2- to see what will happen.... I did not get weird beeping sound no more, but I had iexplorer window with "can not find file.." message in it poping up every 2 seconds and the whole pc just seem to freeze up. And when I tried to reboot computer I've got iexplorer.dll error saying it faild because windows is shutting dawn- PLEASE HELP ME!!! I really did everything possible I knew- nothing seems to work and I have no idea what's wrong with it- that's what drivezzzzz me nuts!

I'd first run the I.E. Explorer Repair Tool. You'll find this in the Add/Remove programs icon in the Control Panel under Microsoft Internet Explorer. Left click the Add/remove button and then select the "repair" option. Then reboot.

I'd suggest a repair/install but with NO guarantee that it could solve this.
Sorry for being less than totally optimistic :(

You can read about it at www.michaelstevenstech.com.

Try uninstalling SP2, reboot (cannot hurt), and then try repair.

I did that already- did not help!
BUT! This what I figured out- ;) , if I will turnf off my DSL modem and then will turn on computer ( without connecting to the Internet)- the sound will not appear. Then I will turn on my DSL modem- the sound is still not here!!!! Then, after maybe 5-6 hours of computer working WITH INternet- the sound will appear again.... ???? Still do not anderstan what is it..maybe it is a virus or adware....
