Well the hurricane is going to completely miss S. Fla.
The stress of the last few weeks has been unbelievable.
Now we just pray that our friends and family further north and west come thru okay.
All I can say is that I am glad for the time being that the threats are over.
What a month!!!
Mark :)

Yep, it looks like you're going to miss this one. From the sounds of it, you'll be able to sit at your window and watch it off in the distance, though. ;)
It's going to make a mess wherever it lands. Last night they were talking 165 m/h winds...

Yes...this is an incredible Storm. Still 160mph Cat5 this Morning and headed into the Gulf. Amazing that it's going right between Cuba and the Yucatan Peninsula where the Eye won't hit land until the US.
They were interviewing some people in the Keys who were upset about all the preparation and boarding up they had to do. They had been evacuated for 4 days now, and have just been allowed to go back.
If they weren't evacuated, and the original track was correct, there would have been nobody left to complain. No question better safe than sorry in this case.
Can you imagine the poor people that got hit with these storms before we had sophisticated radar? They had no idea whatsoever the nightmare that was headed their way.
True, it's still difficult to predict the exact track, but we can follow the storm for days or even weeks and know exactly where it is at any given time....a real life saver!
