During boot the computer (Dell xps t500) beeps twice and stops. It notifies of a resource conflict in the PCI bus specifically "Bus:00, Device:0E, Function: 00" and offers to enter setup to resolve. I enter setup and can find no conflicts. But in Win2k hardware configuration I see multimedia device has incorrect/missing drivers, and lists PCI device 2. Is this as simple as it looks? I have a feeling that it is a card that goes with the DVD. The only other PCI card is the sound card and it is working great. Should I just remove & reinstall the unit or is this un-related to the startup problem? Thanks for any and all help!

I would remove the suspect card and then try booting...and then reseat the card and try again. If the error doesn't show up when the card is removed but returns when the card is reinstalled then most likely it is bad.

I assume that this is a DVD decoder card?

Also check that any cables are properly connected and that there is no build up of dust...
