I don't know where to ask this, so I'll ask it here. What is the Quick Reply button for? In other words, how is that different than the Post Reply button that we've always had. I suppose I ought to know, but I don't.

It allows you to reply but you cannot create hyperlinks or use the smileys, change font sizes, etc.

Works pretty well actually, I've used it a couple of times, smilies and links work fine but I always type them in by hand anyway, while Quick Reply does not make the automagic buttons available.

It also lets me post a reply a lot quicker since I don't have to wait for two pages to load, just the original. That counts on dial-up at 28,800...or the occasional 31,200...

Now that I take a closer look, it does offer bold, italics and underlined text, and will put in quote tags for you, but that's the extent of it. Simple, quick and useful. By the way I used Quick reply and coded all this manually anyway.. :p
