Dear forum users,

We are doing an academic research project on online service quality. We would be grateful if you could spare 3-5 minutes and complete our online questionnaire. The link for the questionnaire is provided below.

http://www.uwe.ac.uk/bbs/osq/

Thank you for your help and time.

P.S. The forum leaders gave me permission to post this message.

Welcome to the forums.

BUT! before anyone clicks on the link could one of the moderators please verify osq_project's statement as far as permission to post it goes.

osq_project please forgive my doubting you, but clicking onto an unknown link by a new (1 post) member is IMHO a wee bit risky.

I looked and I may be wrong but ... if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck ...

Well *I* sure as heck never gave permission for this. Though I probably would have if asked nicely, I don't like it being said I did when I didn't.

Maybe Pete? mjc?

ixl,
They would have to FIND mjc to get permission from him, not likely.
I doubt Pete did either, I would guess it's just the spammers giving themselves permission and saying someone gave them permission.

I did give permission, I was asked by PM and replied last night.

Oh, OK then!

OK... I opted to post another response rather than edit. I didn't have the link available when I gave permission for it to be posted, just an explanation that I hoped was honest.

I just looked at the link and it appears to be just what it says, a questionnaire for a project. I don't see anything too odd in the source html either, then again I don't have extensive knowledge of it, but nothing jumps out as a red flag...

The link is not a typical spammer referral link and the site didn't try to set a cookie.

Anyway, it doesn't look like spam, and as far as I can tell doesn't look like trouble either, it looks like just what I was told, and was posted above. A survey.

Well I went to the site and no registration required, and it was pretty clean and straightforward, 1193 responses so far. Asks about site design preferences for e-business, buying things and such online.

Sorry if I offended anyone with my first post, but in the present climate I thought it better. (The net is getting to be just like the weather here - rather unpredictable)

No problem with me Ernie, actually I'm glad some of the people here are skeptical, that probably means they are even more careful on sites with a lesser reputation than here. I can't find fault with that.

I just wish I had been able to get online and take a look earlier in the day and gotten it cleared up sooner, but I usually don't get online except for checking out customers' machines during the day, and I'm not about to get into going through the forums then...

There is nothing tricky on my questionnaire, just a plain questionnaire which doesn't even ask for email address etc. Thanks to those who participated.

The questionnaire's webpage was down for about 4 hours yesterday due to a problem with the university's server. It's working properly now. Sorry about this problem.
