I have been using IE 6.0 for several months without problems. Starting about a week ago, followup paragraphs in the text at the AP News site have been
displaying as one long line (http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/fronts/HOME).
I'd normally think that this was a site error, but that site is referenced by hundreds of thousands of people a day, and I know of other people who are able to reference it without problems.
I am an active net user, probably visiting 100 sites a day, and this is the only one that causes this problem.
I have: Emptied the temp internet file, reset internet options, uninstalled and reinstalled IE 6.0, run Spybot and AdAware and a Norton virus scan. I have no trouble sending and reading email. I've reviewed the IE settings but couldnt find any that came close to this problem. I'm running ME with a Norton Firewall.
Thanks in advance for your help.

A screenshot would be useful to see what you are seeing.
There is a lot of javascript and popup dialogs used on the page, whether or not that is of any relevance.

Hi, Paul,
I don't think a screenshoot would help; all it would show would be several lines going off the right side of the screen.
What should display as this:
Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their
party for the good of all people here and yet to come, from
wahtever place in whatever manner, regardless of national origin,
gender, and . . . . . .
Is displaying as this:
Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their party for the good of all pe
Right-scrolling displays the rest of the paragraph/line.
I access other news sites that have a lot of text and graphics combinations with no problems. Also, this just began happening a week ago.
Thanks for your help!

The first time I went to your link in both IE and Firefox the page that was displayed was http://hosted.ap.org/specials/bluepage.html though now it goes to whatever the default page at that link happens to be
I cannot find your line of text anywhere on either page so cant dig out the underlying html to examine it's code. Presumably since it's a news page it is regularly updated.
I am attaching the source (saved from view || source) of the current display so that you can see what I mean or maybe you can point out the relevant line or lines in the text. That was why I thought a screen shot might be useful since everything displays normally in my browsers.
Are you getting any red x's (placeholders) showing on the page or any indication of script errors in the status bar at the bottom.
There is wide use of javascript (including the way the CSS style sheets are referenced) on both pages so it seems likely that the problem is in this area. Ensure you have no applications blocking popups or javascript, including your own IE settings and your firewall.

I never did figure out what caused that problem, but it cleared up after I again uninstalled IE 6.0 and manually deleted any files that appeared to be associated with it. I then reinstalled it and everything was fine.
