Having used InCD (version 2.08) for a couple of years of so with Windows 98SE, I thought I'd give a more up-to-date version a try.

I installed the newer 4.2.9.1 version, and tested it out by copying 82Mb of JPEG images to a CD-RW. It stated that this would take 46 minutes - eh?
After two minutes it had only succeeded in copying 6 small JPEGS, so at this stage I gave up and re-installed my old version.

I gave it the identical test - 82Mb - which it gave a time of 40 seconds (that's more like it!). Sure enough it was true to its word.

Newer is not always better. Anyone know why in this case??

Was this with the same disk and had it been formatted previously and was mount rainier format being used on either of the disks?

That's ridiculous for that amount of data. I have used v3.33 with mount rainier enabled with absolutely no problems. Since formatting is done "on the fly" you can use a brand new disk within a minute or two.

Was this with the same disk and had it been formatted previously Yes with the same disk previously reformatted, although there was some previous data on it.

Formatting was via InCD which, as you probably know, takes about 30 minutes. How do I obtain or enable Mount Rainier?

RClick the icon in the system tray and choose properties. Open the InCD page settings tab. If your CDdrive supports Mount Rainier there will be a check box there allowing you to choose "Format to CD-MRW". If your CDdrive doesnt support it then it will be absent or greyed.

No there's no such check box for Mount Ranier so I'm out of luck there.
