color problem

i really really need some help here, i got a computer from a friend of mine, it had problems with freezing up so i re installed windows 98 after i did that the color was messed up, it is distorted and everything is too big, the icons, the windows are so big that i cant see the whole thing. also when i go into display then to settings i only have 2 color options, 16 colors and 2 colors, no 256 or anything else. if anyone could help i would greatly appreciate it.

you need to find out what video source/card you have and locate and install the drivers for it.
