Does anyone know if you can retrieve the data that is stored on the files created when you make an image by Drive Image 2002? ... not the .PQI files, but the files that have the extension .001, .002, .003 and so on...?

Open just the first named pqi file with Image Explorer (it will automatically add the 002, 003, etc, files to its directory tree); double clicking that file should normally open Image Explorer by default. You can then explore the directory of the image file and choose to restore files/folders to the original or to new locations.
The only time this gets messy is when the files are spanned onto multiple CDs (rather than residing together in the same folder on a HDD) since you then spend a lot of time putting in the first, the last, the first disk again, etc etc etc.
So it you want to speed things up and you are using multiple CDs copy all the files in that series to the same folder on a HDD (assuming of course that you have enough available space).
