Being using a virtual machine program called VM Ware found it to be an excellent tool for training, for those of you who havent used it it makes virtual enviroments where you can O/S, I have Win 2000 server installed a 2 doamin controllers an member server and a W2K pro workstaion all in virtual enviroments, all running at the same time and fully networked.
So what is my question you ask !
Does anyone know a network version (see it is posted in the correct area!)
i.e where you can say I have 3 ciscos and not only config them like I have seen in sims but where they will act as sefault gateways, root etc for your real / VM machines.
?

Microsoft Virtual PC (45day free trial) ...

... can be used to install multiple virtual pcs running different OSes all at the same time but you will need lots of computer resources and ram if you run all these virtual machines simultaneously without javing them all, and the host, just crawling along.
You can network the host computer to the virutal ones and share files just as if two computers were networked together but this is of course done via a virtual network card. I havent tried networking two of the virutual pcs together or of setting up a lan including two or more virtuals plus the host, which I think is what you are trying to do. May be you should give it a shot and let us know how you get on.

Just to give you an update I have two 2.4 hhz lattops with 512 mb ram,
I have a seperate domain on each with two domai contollers, a workstation and exchange 5.5.
I have active directory and DNS running fine and a user logs on to the VM workstation see his profile, home directory, public drives, mailbox etc and can send and receive email to the user on the other laptop.
It would be nice though to have some virtual network program where i could confgiure virtual routers os they could be on differen subnets etc
