is there any way to disable the num lock key in xp? beinhg on the number pad section of my keyboard it is often turned off by accident, and i never want to turn off numbers anyway.

... but I don't know a way of permanently disabling the key itself (other than the use of super glue) ;)

It is possible to write a little program to run in the background, which switches numlock on if it gets switched off. Don't know if you're a programmer or how keen you are.

If the keyboard allows it you may be able to just remove the key by getting a small flathead screwdriver and levering the key up. You can jsut put it in a sfe place so you don't lose it in case you ever need it again. :D
Kind of like the following.

If you boot into the BIOS there is usually a setting there to permanantly disable the numbers lock. Select it and save the settings.

Ernie,
If you disable in BIOS, it will always be defaulted as OFF.
aristorias always wants them ON.
