 ok heres my problem, i recently bought a new motherboard with agp x8 support and a graphics card which was apg x8, the problem is that when i play some games, the game wont load or when it does the graphics card develops an error and i have to close the game. i have more than enough requirements to run the games but i just cant seem to. in my bios settings it says that it is set to agp x4 and it wont let me change it to agp x8, does anyone know whats going wrong??
Which MB and video card are you using, and what are the specs for the remaining components of your system?
What is the exact text of the error message when you try to play games?
What happens when you try to configure AGP to 8X in BIOS?

While it is strange that your 8x parts are only set to 4x, I don't think that's your core problem here. I think it's a driver problem or perhaps an out-dated BIOS.
Again, give us your specs and let us know which drivers you're currently using.

We still don't know what motherboard you have! The BIOS update will be provided by the motherboard manufacturer along with the flash utility. Your BIOS should be only flashed by following the motherboard manufacturers instructions.

In addition to the latest drivers for your video card, which you say you have, also make sure that you have the latest drivers for your motherboard chipset.
That video card requires at least a 300W power supply so that could also be an issue.
BIOS updates should not be done unless absolutely necessary. I would suggest that you go to your MB manufacturer web site and check the BIOS updates to see if any of them address the problem that you are having.
