I have packard bell pentium 233mhz,2gb,windows 98 .My kid uninstall something and now don't even start it what it does soon windows 98 screen shows freeze and stop responding .I try to restore whith master restore disk but when I restar it whit the master restore floopy in, shows starting windows 95 (wich is the original installed)and then stops responding and freezes again. my guess is maybe don't recognize my cd-rom?.or has something to do with the bios? any ideas?

Do you have the your Win98 boot disk? If that's the OS on the system, you'll need that. Or, if the "thing" that was deleted was really important, it might not boot. Your best bet might be to just reinstall the original OS and then to the 98 upgrade again. Of course you'll lose all the stuff on the hard drive, but...

I try the booth disk for win98 and nothing try the master restore disk for restore the whole computer and stops responding,I try to push f-8 to try to start it on safe mode and see the next message http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/frown.gifyour program is caused DIVIDE OVERFLOW ERROR contact the program vendor)and stop responding I don't have any clue on this?????????????

See if you can get into DOS Prompt.
Once there type scanreg (leave space here) /restore.
It will give you a option on which one to go back to, select the one closes to today.
If you have installed any programs after that date they will not work. You will have to do a reinstall of the programs that do not work.
If this fails format is in order.

I can't go any farter than f8 after pushing show the menu and the computer stops respondig and see the message your program caused divide overflow.I can go to set up for cmos set up utility when I push DEL .But I don't know what to do after that. is any way I can restart it from there?
