Hi,

I have just downloaded the correct driver for my motherboard as I didn't have any sound, and now I am only getting sound out of the front speakers, I have a 5.1 sound card and I have changed the settings in sounds and audio devices in the control panel to 5.1, however I am not experienceing 5.1? I have double checked the leads in the back of the computer and sub woofer and everything is fine, is there a programme I have to download in order for me to get 5.1? I am new to this sound malarky however. I would like to listen to my sounds in 5.1, any suggestions would be gratefuly received.

Thanks Darren :)

What make and model of sound card do you have and what is your operating system?

In AudioHQ (Creative) make sure you have selected 5.1 and you have checked/ticked the "digital out put" box.

I have my soundcard connected to an external amp via coaxal to get 5.1 digital for games and films tick digital output box and make sure your speaker settings say 2.1. If your using dvd software eg windvd or powerdvd in the settings of the software tick spdif as the sound source
