going to do my FULL Restore on my compaq (baby)

and then after I get rid of all the unneeded compaq crap I'm gonna dual boot with an install of winXP Pro.

gotta be able to use it to fix it!

ok.... back!

have win98se installed, got rid of Adaptec Easy and Direct Cd 4 tec (from safe mode using their uninstall shield)

have not yet installed Roxio 5.

Have not installed antivirus or zone alarm.

Installed cam software (gotta see who's at my front door without gettin off my rear end-lol) and of course adsl.

Think I will - import Outlook Express settings, install Roxio5, do micro-shaft critcle updates and then do winXPPro.

on install it says I'm missing " C:\$WIN_NT$~LS\I386\asms.....blabla line 4-"

??

winxp-pro install

win98se is still ok

sorry typo IT didn't copy all the files over.

Not sure about links.
Others say that activeX on pages
and are getting warning about them ..
On those links.

I didn't get any warning . BUT I have active X disabled and ZA doesn't detect anything
