windows partition ‘vanished’ – ‘disappeared’ all on a sudden.
Dear troubleshooter,
I ran FDISK from command prompt – while win98 was running! to create a second logical partition, which was to enable 10 more Gb of disk space. That amount of disk space was left un-partitioned – when I created my first partition to define D drive. Thought of installing Linux Operating System later in that free space.
I had C: drive – 10Gb
D: drive – 20Gb
Left free – 10Gb
Now, while running FDISK, I pressed option (1) and then (3) [thinking that I’ll create a new logical partition]
It said – “no logical partition is defined” and started checking the integrity of the system immediately!
Scared me – not being able to close FDISK – closed the command prompt window!
Next time I started the PC, and realized my D drive disappeared! with all my research data and songs and what not!! I simply can’t afford to lose those data...
Anybody there to help me as quickly as possible to retrieve my D drive data? I’m really in a tough situation...
Thanks a lot to my sincere troubleshooter.
-Manojit
PS: I would like to enable the left out 10Gb Disk Space as well.
