CD-ROM PROB

hiya.. havein lil trouble w/ cd rom....wont read ne disks. tray opens n stuff, but wont do nething when i put a disk in..i dont know much about computers myself. we sent our cpu(towder or whatever) to get fixed...they fixed it n all...but few days later(actualy 2)started up again...

also i try n scan it w/ anti virus thing, and i get..

is locked by a disk utility. Scan again
later when disk is no longer
locked. ???

but nehow..im haveing it sent to get fixed..again
wonderin if ya guys can maby help me out..so i dont have2 send it out..again

If you are running WinMe HERE'S (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q259155) one possibility.

It appears that the drive is being locked by Norton. Perhaps uninstalling Norton might be one route to go and then see if the drive is freed up.
