AVI's are very dark

Hi Guys

I had to reinstall windows 2000 pro sp4 and direct x 9.(xxxx)c, now when I transfer video via firewire they show very dark. Video's that I transfered before the reinstall are correct for a split second and then go very dark. I have used two methods to transfer video and it's the same, a spit second at the right brightness then goes dark

When I view them on another computer over the network they appaer to be right. In my editing program the thumb nail shows the video at the right brightness

I am positive that the video is the right brightness on the hard drive, it's just when I view them they are dark.

Try updating your video card driver. And what hardware do you have in there?

After much investigation and a reinstall I figured it was the monitor settings (contrast/bright) being fiddeled with, a diferent video source, and different setting in the player.
