win xp sp1 to sp2?

ok maybe is stupid question,but i must ask.I have already SP1 and all updates from microsoft support until now,question is ,should i install SP2?

Yes, it's very important.
To save yourself some trouble scan your system for malware or adware first.
many people have been reporting a slow down of their machines who have not scanned.

You will eventually have no choice.

At some point in the near future if you do not upgrade to SP2 you will not be able to recieve future security updates. I am not sure what the cut of date is.

A clean system, free of crapware and all other vermin, is absolutely essential. After that, make sure you update the drivers and such for your system to SP2 compatibility before doing the upgrade. This seems to be almost universally recommended by manufacturers and M$. Then, if you can get it, the CD is the most painless way to go, that's what I did. If not, I hope you have broadband.

Finally, I'm not a big fan of Windoze. I use it by necessity. However, SP2, so far, seems to be one of the best efforts Uncle Bill's geeks have put out. Let's hope Longhorn is as good. :cool:
