I have recently shared three colleagues with DSL connection via a network (Cable). We are using one account thru one telephone line.
my questions are:
1. To what extent my privacy is protected?
2. Are my financial transactions and/or login names and passwords logged to the third colleague who has provided me with the dsl account thru his tel. line?
3. Can he track my browsing?
Depending on how the network and router(If Used) is setup.
He may be Blind to everything you do.
If your wired to the router dirrectly..
Or if he is using an Internet share system using his system as the server
He can LOG or packet sniff everything you do.

I disagree. If you are on the router, you are all on the same subnet and if he has a packet sniffer, be could see severything.
That being said, he'd have to be really interested in what you are doing in order to do something. You could install a satofware firewall that blocks any IP address in the router's DHCP series except for the router itself and that should prevent him form accessing your PC.
