In my NetGear router firewall I need to specify an IP address that the port I’m forwarding will go to.
I'm a little in question about what IP ending suffix I should use for my computer out of the two we have at my home, For example:

If I type CMD, Ipconfig at the run line, the IP address I get ends with a (.2) for the LAN.
But in my Net gear fire wall router settings, I get the same LAN Ip address but it ends in a (.1)

Now I’ve got my dad's computer downstairs hooked to this rotor.
I guess my question is:
should I go with what the CMD window is giving me, which happends to end in .2 or/ or the firewall which is giving me .1?

How do I know which out of the two computers is being assigned IP# __.__.__.__2

Go with the information from the computer. The IP ending in 1 from the router is the IP address of the routers internal network port.

I see, thank you Pave, that was my next question.

I guess that explains why my Lan IP address I got from typing CMD at the run line came up with a 2 at the end?

thanks for verifying this, networking is so deep.
I'm guessing it's the WAN address you don't want to give out to people right?

Your router assigns IP addresses. The routers internal side port is usually numbered 192.168.1 .1, the next IP assigned by the router may be .2, the following a .3 and so on. Each time a pc is connected to the router and it is set to obtain the IP address automatically, it will ask the router for an IP number. The router will give it the next in line or a "random" number from the pool it has to assign from. When you do IP config /all the IP address of the Ethernet adapter is your PC's IP address- the Default Gateway is the IP address of your routers internal side - the LAN side port.
