Well the final gold version is out today but the site is swamped and I am not able to get to it.
I should wait because all my extensions [5] probably are not going to work and it was a pain frm the last time around.
Still pretty exciting. :)

I was going to post after getting it installed, but no response from www.mozilla.org site, maybe later today.

You can go first,
I finally got everything running right and as I said might wait a few days till all the extensions catch up.

I got my copy last night from the developer's ftp site. Any extension I have used works fine with 1.0 final.

Don't forget, many places are mirroring the file, like MajorGeeks (http://www.majorgeeks.com/download2248.html). Have fun.

Just got it and except for Window update, everything is fine.
I notice nothing different at all which in my case is fine :)
Wow just noticed that U.S.A. photos work with flash without switching to user switch. That was worth the download alone.
Also all the media plugins work without a reinstall first time.
I am a happy camper :)

I am also finding it's using a lot less memory with multiple tabs. Still a pig but nowhere as bad as before.

I finally got it downloaded and installed, limited themes but I am certain that will be fixed in a couple of weeks.

I got it. I'll have to wait till I get home to install it though.

Been using the 1.0PR2 last couple of days.
I just wish they would stop changing the keyboard shortcut to the download manager window.

Well, I hope everyone has the experience that I had.
Very, very smooth.
One extension not ready yet [win update].
Flash works now on sites it did not before [usa today] and I did not have to screw around with Real or Wmp.
As I said I am very happy and hope their good work continues.

Never used any other browser than IE or netscape ... will someone rundown the basics of why something like firefox, or any alt browser for that reason is better? thanks alot

Easy answer as far as firefox [don't know enough about others to give honest answer]
Security, does not use active x which is a major possible problem with ie.
Bare bones, can make as small or as big as you like thru extensions.
Tab browsing, the ability to have tabs so that one is able to go from one site to the other without opening new windows. If you have not used it you will be amazed at how habit forming it can be.
Because it's open source problems [security] seem to get fixed much faster than ie.
downside, does not work with all sites. some sites are hard wired so to speak to ie. there are extension [small add on programs] that get around this.
Of course a web browser is only a end to a means but i am a big Ms fan and have found firefox fun to use and I have little or no spy or ad ware after using it. IMHO
