OK...here we go with what I'm sure is a simple solution, but one that eludes me and I'm sick of searching. (I've really got to stop staying up late and getting up early) :p
Lets just suppose that you are running AVG Anti-virus on a particular Computer.
Now, lets assume you haven't updated it for a few days.
You boot up the Computer and you receive the ol' "your Computer may be at risk" balloon warning telling you your AV is out of date.
No big deal so far right? Right!
So, you update AVG....everything is up to date!
Isn't that wonderful? :)
HOWEVER, the warning does not go away untill you re-boot the Computer.
:(
Isn't there a simple way to "refresh" the security center so it knows you've updated your AV definitions?
Does it refresh itself and I'm just not waiting long enough?
Keep in mind this is a hypothetical situation of course. :p
I realize you can easily shut down the security center, or "Change the way the security center alerts you" by unticking the box for AV.
Or changing the setting to tell Windows you will manage it yourself.
But what if I like the security center?????
And what if I WANT it to tell me AVG is out of date????
And what if all I want to do is refresh it after I've updated AVG so the warning goes away without rebooting?
Logging off or switching users doesn't reset it....only rebooting.
Why doesn't it know the AV is now up to date?
What the heck am I missing here? (Hypothetically speaking of course)
