chipset heatsink without a fan

Can anyone tell me.
My mobo is a gigabyte 845pe chipset and the chipset fan is sticking.
instead of getting and fitting a new fan could I fit one of these Quiet PC large heatsinks that dont need a fan. or would I be in danger of meltdown of some sort

You will be ok running without a chipset fan, mite be worth getting one.

If you fit a larger heatsink to the chipset make sure its no to heavy and well secured.
