Please help me! I have buy my system about a month ago. Actually I upgrade the motherboard, cpu, ram and graphic card. The first I open the computer it have problem with keyboard, without knowing anything (I mean without knowing keyboard problem) I clear bios and accidently open the power. My motherboard still can run perfectly and don't have any problem when installing Windows. My problem is:

- When install Windows Media Player 9 and up, the video files (wmv,avi,mpeg) my my system freeze when I play it for sometime. My sound also have problem (wma) when playing with Windows Media Plyer 9 and up.
- When playing some game like Doom3, Grand Theft Auto 3 and Vice City, my system will also freeze when loading to menu, loading video or start game.
- I can't play DVD in WinDVD 4 with DTS option when I set 4 speaker in Windows because that make my system freeze too.
- When I copy anything from cd or dvd my system slowdown when it finish copy.

What is my system problem? Is possiblely happen? Is that power supply, memory compatible, cpu malfunction, motherboard damaged, keyboard broke, video card, harddisk and cd/dvd or IRQ?

Thing I have do;
I ran memtest86 for about 3 hour without any error.
I don't know ampere of my power supply because sticker have gone.
I also have check my cpu with Prime95 and run it about 15 minute (I exit myself) and have not found any cpu problem.
I have disable some intregatred device (sound, lan, serial ata) and performance setting in bios (fast write, etc).
I have remove all my pci device and CD and DVD from motherboard.
I have replaced the keyboard (problem done)
Unplug memory and set in to single channel.
Place only 256 memory and try both memory.
Updated latest bios but it cause more trouble.
Check the temperature and it around 38-46C.
Put the memory voltage to 2.7 volt and make Ulead VideoStudio not freeze when burn VideoCD. My memory benchmark also up about 6% (2379 at 166Mhz).

Thing I don't do yet;
Try another power supply with right power.
Convert NTFS to FAT32 and try older Windows
Try another cpu
Try another ram
Try another motherboard
Replace thermalpaste
etc (don't know yet)

But my system always stuck when it open the problem thing that I have write. Play help me Again!

I clear bios and accidently open the power.
If the power was turned on with the 'Clear CMOS' jumper in the 'clear' position, then the MB may have been damaged.
Also, this jumper should not be moved at all unless the power is turned off and the power cord is disconnected.

Did you install the MB's chipset drivers?

Did you make sure that only default settings are being used for the memory?

The other thing to try is to swap out the PS for a higher wattage unit.

Hi,

Did your problems start when you installed (upgraded) your wmp 9? If that is the case , see if there is any patch available for your video card BIOS. Also run DXDIAG program to see if there is any conflict.

Thank for replying. Maybe my motherboard have damaged but what the symptom for motherboard (I still can play video using Windows Media Player 8 and play older games using DX8). I have install the motherboard driver (nforce 5.10). I have try memory default setting and by CPU speed.

Yes problem playing media files any start when installing Windows Media Player 9 and X. I also run Dxdiag program and not find any conflict.

Is there software to test motherboard? Cos I don'y want to wait RMA for nothing and they send back with the same problem still remind.
