I would turn my computer on and could hear it booting but the monitor would stay black. Replaced everything but memory, hard drive, and processor before i figured out it was the power button (pretty sure).

Now i'm having the same problem but it will finally start after about 6 times turning it off and on.

Is the power button wearing out again????

I bought the M/B from the same company could this be it????

Can you buy just a power button????

Do power buttons wear out a lot????

Never had a power button wear out. Is the button a plunger type button, like does it press down and stay down or do you just click it and it shuts off.?
The little connectors that hook up to the mother board could be faulty , take a look close at all of them. The connectors like pwr button, reset, hddled e.g.

Check the monitor, is it turned on? Cable plugged in securely?

If you can hear it try to boot the power button is probably ok. If it were bad I doubt if it would even try to run at all.

Check the connections and pull everything but motherboard, CPU, memory and video card. Make sure you have monitor and keyboard plugged in and try to power it up. If you have no video at that point, reseat memory and video cards again. If you have more than one memory chip pull all but one. Be sure and unplug the system or turn it off completely before pulling any components. Some cases have a main power switch on back, others have to be unplugged. I fried a good video card not long ago by forgetting to unplug the machine before pulling the video card to reseat it. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/frown.gif

If you still have no video there is a possibility that it has a short between motherboard and chassis, cardboard washers beteween the motherboard and the metal standoffs should fix that. Computer shops should have the washers.

Is the system overclocked? Some video cards do not like overclocking, and will not work at higher speeds. Bad memory or wrong memory type can also cause no video.

Also post some system info, that may help us, and was this a previously working system or is it newly built?

On my old system I had to hold the Power button in for 4 seconds or it would turn itself off this was a setting in the BIOS. Also had to hold the button to turn it off. You might check on this.
