View Full Version : "C" drive won't boot up !!! Help !!!
I screwed something up bad!! I have a dual boot system on my computer. I have Win98se on the “C” partition and Win XP on the “D” partition. I just defraged my C drive, and now when I reboot and try to go to the C drive, I get “Invalid system disk – Replace the disk, and then press any key” I can’t get to Win98. I can boot to WinXP and everything seems to be working fine. How or what do I have to do to get back my C drive? I need major help here!

Do you have a Windows 9X start up disk.
If you do, boot to the floppy
and type sys c:
this will transfer the system files to the disk.
The only thing I don't know is how this will affect the boot loader for XP.
Good luck
When you boot into XP can you inspect the 98 partition.....does everything look normal, look for MSDOS.sys, is it still there?
Go into the windows folder, is Command.com still there?
