As it stands - I am in the process of building a newer system, and so far have selected to use this MB:
GIGA BYTE GA-8 ANXP-D 925X CHIPSET
SOCKET LGA 775
The CPU I selected:
INTEL LGA 775-P4540 3.2MHZ
FSB 800 1MB L2 CACHE HT
L1 CACHE-12K+16K
VOLTAGE 1.4
I am stuck on as what to use for DDR memory, I guess I really will have to research as for speed to be comparable for the FSB. I have read different reports and received excellent knowledge from Saphalline in the theory of using speeds that are syncronized with the FSB. In one article I have read - said to use RAM slower then the FSB side of the house. This article was pertaining to a 32 bit processor: if a 64 bit processor is used what would be the best memory, to be compatible with the FSB? [I would have to change my MB to a socket 939 system to accept the 64 bit cpu]
If I were to use the above MB chipset and socket 775 which is the 32bit processor, what speed should my memory be?
Thank you
