Heh why the term "hacker" as the thread topic? I know the term "cracker" never caught on much, I just wish that term would be associated with the good instead of the bad http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/frown.gif.

Umm...A rose by any other name..?
I used the word "hacker" because Mr. Burke said his site had been hacked. That's all.
What's the matter with "hacker"? I'm kinda new to the internet world. Didn't "hacker" start out as a term for internet vandals?

Oh no problem then Steve, sorry about that. Yeah I caught that he also used the same wording on his site. Unfortunately, to most people, that term has come to mean someone who uses a computer to vandalize. It did not originally mean that though. People that further computing and make it better for the rest of us should be reguarded as hackers.
I don't want to preach to you. As far as you are concerned I only exist as strings of bytes on a hard disk platter somewhere http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif. I just wanted you to be aware of the other meanings of the word. Pick up _Hackers_ by Steven Levy if you have any interest in the subject. If not that's cool too http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif.

The Happy Hacker? I'll keep that in mind. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif
More than what we call it, the important thing is the action!
I'm just real mad at internet vandals now a days. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/mad.gif
No problem Manny. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
