I need to get a wireless card for my PC for college. I will be using signals from several different buildings. Can I buy any wireless card and have it pick up any wireless signal? Any preffered cards? What do I look for? Any Info. Helps!

Thanx!

Most colleges use either "b" or "g" wireless networks. These are standard, so you should be able to find a PCI/laptop wireless card at any electronics store. My advice would be to get a major brand wireless card that supports "g" networks (labeled as "802.11g" but often shortened to "g" in casual use). A card from D-Link, Linksys, Belkin, Motorola, Netgear, etc would work well.

If you aren't in a hurry, order online as it will be cheaper. If you are in a hurry, stop by your local Best Buy or Fry's or whatever is nearby and pick one up.
